The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum is a very good wireless gaming mouse. It feels well-built, you can connect it wirelessly with its USB receiver or with its micro-USB cable, and it has a customizable button layout that lets you add or remove up to two side buttons on either side of the mouse. It has low click latency, a wide CPI range, a CPI that's adjustable by increments of 50, and a very low lift-off distance. It's well-suited to all grip types and hand sizes, though small hands may have trouble reaching all the buttons using a fingertip grip. Unfortunately, the unit we tested has an inconsistent sensor that overshoots the set CPI during faster mouse movements.
Our Verdict
The Logitech G900 is a great mouse for office use. It feels sturdy and has a scroll wheel with L/R tilt buttons that also unlocks for free scrolling. It connects wirelessly with a USB receiver and has customizable side buttons allowing you to have up to two side buttons on either side. You can also set a G-Shift key, enabling a secondary layer of commands using the customization software compatible with Windows and macOS.

The Logitech G900 is an excellent mouse for MMO gaming. It has customizable buttons, so you can have up to two side buttons on either side, and you can set a secondary layer of commands by enabling G-Shift. However, some gamers may still prefer a dedicated MMO mouse with more side buttons. That said, it feels well-built, has great low click latency, and has customization software compatible with Windows and macOS. It's well suited for all grip types, though small hands may not reach all buttons comfortably using a fingertip grip.

The Logitech G900 is an okay mouse for fans of ultra-light gaming, but it's much heavier than a dedicated ultra-light mouse. That said, it feels sturdy and has low click latency. It also has a flexible braided cable if you decide to use it wired rather than wireless, and it's well-suited for all grip types and nearly all hand sizes. Unfortunately, our model's sensor is fairly inconsistent and overshoots the set CPI during faster mouse movements.

The Logitech G900 is an adequate travel mouse as it connects wirelessly with a USB receiver. It's also heavy, fairly bulky, lacks onboard storage for its USB receiver, and likely won't fit in most laptop cases. That said, it feels well-built, it has a comfortable ambidextrous shape that's well-suited for all grip types and very nearly all hand sizes, and it has onboard memory for settings.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants
The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum we tested is black, and there are no other variants. It's now discontinued and replaced by the Logitech G903 HERO. You can see the label for our unit here.
Compared To Other Mice
The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum is a predecessor of the Logitech G903 LIGHTSPEED and the Logitech G903 HERO. It convinced many gamers to consider a wireless mouse for the first time when it was released. It offers performance specs resembling high-end wired gaming mice but has added wireless capability without making any serious sacrifices. Later versions have mainly focused on improving the sensor and battery life, but the overall design remains relatively unchanged.

Both mice only connect wireless with their USB receivers and are almost universally well-suited for all grip types and hand sizes, though they aren't suitable for small hands using a fingertip grip.

The GLORIOUS is a wired mouse that's substantially lighter and has a better cable and mouse feet. Comparatively, the Logitech connects wirelessly with its USB receiver, has two extra side buttons, more precise CPI adjustment steps, and a lower lift-off distance. Both mice are well-suited to all grip types and very nearly all hand sizes.
The Logitech G604 LIGHTSPEED is an excellent MMO mouse, while the Logitech M900 Chaos Spectrum is a very good FPS gaming mouse. The G604 has a right-handed shape, connects with its USB receiver or Bluetooth, and uses an AA battery. It also has six side buttons and a more consistent sensor. On the other hand, the G900 has an ambidextrous shape and connects wirelessly with its USB receiver or its micro-USB charging cable. It also has four customizable side buttons. Both mice are well-suited for all grip types and most hand sizes, but the G604 isn't suitable for small hands using any grip type.
Test Results
The advertised battery life is 24 hours with default lighting and 32 hours without lighting. However, this isn't something we test.
The cable transfers power and data, so you can use the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum while it charges.

This mouse has customizable side buttons allowing you to install one, two, or zero side buttons on either side. It also includes plastic plates if you want to cover the button sockets.
No software issues were encountered during testing. However, many users online have reported various problems trying to use Logitech G HUB, including but not limited to startup issues, freezing, and connection issues with some devices.
