The ROCCAT Kone AIMO Remastered is a decent wired gaming mouse. It has a comfortable right-handed shape with a thumb rest and three side buttons on the left. It feels very well-built, and it has five independent RGB lighting zones. It's well-suited for all hand sizes using a palm grip but isn't suitable for smaller hand sizes using other grip types. Performance-wise, it has a very low lift-off distance, a wide CPI range, and you can adjust the set CPI by increments of 50. Unfortunately, it's quite a large mouse and very heavy. Also, its click latency is somewhat higher than on similar gaming mice, and the customization software is only compatible with Windows.

Our Verdict

Cons
  • Wired-only.
  • Scroll wheel has no free scrolling mode.
N/A Video Games (FPS)

The ROCCAT Kone AIMO Remastered is a decent FPS gaming mouse, but it's very heavy, and its click latency is somewhat higher than on similar gaming mice. That said, it feels very well-built, and it has a comfortable right-handed shape that's well-suited for all hand sizes using a palm grip. • Feels very well-built.
  • Comfortable right-handed shape with a thumb rest.
Cons
  • Very heavy.
  • Braided cable isn't very flexible.

N/A Ultra-Light Gaming

The ROCCAT Kone AIMO Remastered is inadequate for ultra-light gaming as it's very heavy and has somewhat higher click latency than many other gaming mice. Also, its braided cable isn't very flexible, and its feet don't glide as smoothly as those on a dedicated ultra-light gaming mouse. That said, it feels very well-built, and it has a comfortable, right-handed shape with a thumb rest. However, it isn't suitable for smaller hands using a claw or fingertip grip.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The ROCCAT Kone AIMO Remastered we tested is the black color variant. It's also available in a white color variant. You can see the label for our unit here.

Compared To Other Mice

The ROCCAT Kone AIMO Remastered is an iteration of ROCCAT's extensive Kone lineup and precedes the ROCCAT Kone Pure Ultra. The Kone AIMO Remastered is an updated version of the earlier ROCCAT Kone AIMO, which itself was an update of the original 2007 model. Compared to its predecessor, the remastered version has more independent RGB lighting zones, a new sensor with a wider CPI range, and a remodeled thumb rest design. Unfortunately, it's very heavy compared to most other wired gaming mice, and its click latency is somewhat higher than many other options at this price point.
